Main food: Breast milk or formula

Schedule:

Feed every 2–3 hours

About 8–12 feeds per day

Sample routine

6:00 AM – Milk

8:30 AM – Milk

11:00 AM – Milk

1:30 PM – Milk

4:00 PM – Milk

6:30 PM – Milk

9:00 PM – Milk

Night feeds as needed

๐Ÿผ 4–6 Months

Main food: Breast milk / formula

(Some babies may start solids after 6 months)

Schedule:

6–8 milk feeds daily

Optional (if pediatrician approves solids):

1 small serving of

mashed banana ๐ŸŒ

rice cereal

mashed apple

๐Ÿš 6–9 Months

Milk + solids

Schedule example

7:00 AM – Milk

9:00 AM – Breakfast (mashed banana / idli mash)

11:30 AM – Milk

1:30 PM – Lunch (rice + dal mash)

4:00 PM – Milk

6:00 PM – Snack (fruit puree)

8:00 PM – Milk

Foods you can introduce

Idli mash

Rice + dal

Vegetable puree

Ragi porridge

๐Ÿฒ 9–12 Months

3 meals + 2 snacks + milk

Schedule example

7:00 AM – Milk

8:30 AM – Breakfast (idli / dosa soft pieces)

11:00 AM – Snack (fruit)

1:00 PM – Lunch (rice + dal + vegetables)

4:00 PM – Milk

6:00 PM – Snack (boiled sweet potato)

8:00 PM – Dinner (khichdi / curd rice)

✅ Tips

Always introduce one new food at a time

Wait 3 days before trying another food

Avoid salt, sugar, honey before 1 year

Continue breast milk or formula as main nutrition
